Putin’s war in Ukraine has changed geopolitical equations around the world including China. Beijing which once looked to Ukraine for defence technologies is believed to be tacitly backing Moscow’s invasion of the country. China has had strong economic and defence ties with Ukraine, its biggest trading partner in eastern Europe. In recent decades, the former Soviet republic has sold key military equipment and technology to China.
