UH-1Y Huey Attack Helicopter

A U.S. Marine peers into a UH-1Y Huey with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 169 during the initiation of Operation Wild Stallion off the coast of Okinawa, Japan, Sept. 25, 2019. Two AH-1Z Vipers, three UH-1Y Hueys, and two CH-53E Super Stallion helicopters from HMLA-169 and Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 462 initiated the training operation at a live fire range.

 

They participated in live fire training and a Forward Arming and Refueling Point operation. The purpose of this operation is to simulate delaying enemy forces in the surrounding areas from advancing on the civil nation of Okinawa.
