Ukrainian forces
Ukrainian troops stormed a Russian trench on the southern frontline. Soldiers of the 15th Brigade ‘Kara-Dag’ unit filmed the firefight. It begins with armoured vehicles taking the soldiers into battle. They are attacking a Russian trench system dug into a tree-line. The vehicles provide cover and suppressing fire as the troops move in. Once in the trenches, the troops have to take on the enemy with rifles. They are forced to manoeuvre through the narrow paths. All while taking fire from the Russians, and returning it themselves. Three men appeared to get separated from their unit in the maze. And as the footage ends they appear to be trying to signal to them. It is not clear exactly where or when the video was taken. But it likely captures a battle near the town of Robotyne. Ukraine took the town recently after months of hard fighting. They broke Russian defences, and are now advancing to the south. The goal is to reach and sever the Russian supply line to Crimea.
