Impact of the rising Fuel Costs on a Wider Scale
Claire Brock is joined by John Lee to discuss the impact of the rising fuel costs on a wider scale.
In an address to the government, Transport Minister Eamon Ryan says ‘a practical example’ to cut fuel consumption is to drive slower.
John criticises Eamon Ryan for his detachment to the rising costs crisis, stating he did not “fill us with great optimism.”
He says it is impossible to use less fuel, especially those who rely on driving for work; contractors, those in the agricultural sector, truck drivers, hauliers.
John hopes that world markets will settle down soon. He criticises the government for their lack of response, as he states they have known this situation was a possibility back in January.
